中央銀行總裁彭淮南任期將於明（2018）年2月屆滿，他已表態不再續任，外界關切誰會成為下任央行總裁？其中台灣金控暨台灣銀行董事長呂桔誠也被市場點名是人選之一。對此，呂桔誠 19 日在立法院財委會表示，「我沒聽說，我沒想過，從來沒想過」。
目前市場點名的央行總裁接任人選不少，除前行政院長林全之外，還包括現任央行副總裁楊金龍、前央行副總裁陳師孟、前行政院副院長吳榮義、前央行副總裁許嘉棟、日本野村總合研究所首席經濟學家辜朝明、前經建會（現國發會）主委陳博志、現任悠遊卡公司董事長林向愷、前財政部長也是現任台灣金控董事長呂桔誠等人。
財委會 19 日邀請金管會、國發會、經濟部等單位首長就「金融業新南向政策成效與未來挑戰」進行專題報告，而公股行庫董總也都列席備詢。國民黨立委羅明才質詢時先問台銀有沒有參與慶富造船聯貸案？呂桔誠表示，台銀有參與，聯貸金額 20 億元，但他沒見過慶富造船的董事長，他並認為，這聯貸案有當時的考量。
此外，央行總裁彭淮南將退休，加上市場點名呂桔誠學經歷完整，與彭淮南出身相似，尤其不到 60 歲的年輕優勢，加上綠營背景，有可能是接任央行總裁的黑馬。羅明才也藉機詢問呂桔誠，有人請你去當央行總裁嗎？呂桔誠回應指出，「我沒聽說，我沒想過，從來沒想過」。
羅明才則認為，這位置不是開玩笑的，不要變成酬庸，起碼要像彭總裁的資歷、為國家奉獻，彭總裁內任也沒有出過什麼案子，像慶富造船案，銀行可能損失幾百億，萬一到央行可能就變幾千億、幾兆元，請呂董事長先把手邊工作做好做滿，讓大家覺得你成績很好，再想下個位置怎麼走，呂桔誠則再次強調「從沒想過」。
統一獅隊內野手陳重廷在昨（23）日對上猿隊的比賽中，敲出職棒生涯首轟。陳重廷表示，很感謝獅隊打擊教練劉育辰和大學時的打擊教練廖敏雄。
陳重廷說，以前在業餘時，為了求上壘，在2好球後都會去「碰」球，不過獅隊打擊教練劉育辰告訴他：「職棒是打長期的，你（陳重廷）不能因為2好球，就去碰你不想打或不喜歡的球。」
劉育辰告訴陳重廷，去碰球反而可能造成雙殺，如果大力揮棒，就算是三振，也不會影響到壘上的跑壘員。
除了劉育辰外，陳重廷也相當感謝另一位打擊教練，就是文化大學的打擊教練廖敏雄，「我很謝謝廖教練，他只希望我把球打得有力，因為球打得有力自然而然會形成長打，安打率也會變高，而且廖教練也給我們很大的空間去發揮。」
陳重廷表示，進入職棒自己還在學習，不管是自己的觀念，或是守備時的站位等，好在球隊學長不管在任何技巧上，都不會吝嗇去指導新人。明年將是陳重廷第一個完整球季，他也會在春訓時向學長請教如何調配整個賽季的體能。
